CANOES

The Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association is pleased to announce ARE Tahiti V6 Matahina will be the official team outrigger for the 2024 IVF World Sprint Championship in Hilo, Hawaii. This marks the third year in a row the ARE Tahiti V6 Matahina will be the race canoe for all team events as it was the official canoe in England in 2022 and Samoa in 2023.

This early announcement will provide plenty of time for teams to train in Matahina outriggers in preparation for the 2024 IVF World Sprint Championship.

HCRA is pleased to announce the FAI 4SI will be the canoe used for all individual V1 races. Developed by leading Tahitian va'a designer Vatea Bunton in partnership with Outrigger Zone, the FAI 4si is the world's first one-piece autoclave-cured pre-preg carbon fiber V1 - giving it an unmatched combination of strength and lightness. It builds on the success of the FAI 3X - the most dominant V1 in history - with a sleeker hull and an array of new features that take its performance and versatility to the next level.
